Better Education For Scorers

I have had many reviews be marked as incorrect because of things that are not in the guidelines. The scorers are not up to date on the new guidelines and often mark off points incorrectly. It makes updating the review pointless because the next scorer will mark off points for other arbitrary things that are not in the updated guidelines.

The practice of having different editors score the same review is probably supposed to serve as a form of education. It can work if serious penalties are not attached to an editor admitting they were wrong. There are too many editors and not enough reviewers (my opinion). One reviewer can end up being at the mercy of 6 or more different editors, all with different levels of knowledge. How does a reviewer even escalate an incorrectly rated review if they have to keep on changing and resubmitting it? Fix the root cause, i.e., expecting every level 6 reviewer to edit 3 reviews per day.

Yes, I’ve noticed that. Plus British English and American English are different in so many ways so if editors could take into consideration the different rules that apply.
